Since you are reading this message, you are either a candidate for our program or a person who wants to stay up to date on the latest happenings in our Young Lasallian (YL) Movement. In either case, welcome and know that you are part of a most historic and exciting time in our Lasallian Family history!
After the International Symposium of Young Lasallians held in the Summer of 2006, your International Council for Young Lasallians (ICYL) has been working hard to realize the vision which those Young Lasallians from across the globe embraced. Your call at that time was clear - “Stronger Networks” and “Formation Programmes for YL.” Your MISSION POSSIBLE, your SHARED DREAM for a vibrant YL movement in our Lasallian world today is about to be launched! VEGA ’09!
VEGA was created precisely as a response to the ICYL vision which reads:

- to develop and sustain an international network of movements and projects coordinated for and by YL in order to emphasize the importance of communication and participation of youth within the Institute.
- to develop and urge the creation of structures which could contribute towards the formation of the YL on various levels, which would be based on values needed for a meaningful participation in improving the Lasallian Mission.
The VEGA’09 programme is our response to your call. This is a formation experience which will allow networks to be built and sustained at various levels within and among Districts. This is a pilot project and it will be replicated in the other Regions. It’s Lasallian history in the making and you are a part of it! CONGRATULATIONS!
